Sunday School

Administration

St. Gregorios Malankara Orthodox Church Sunday school is open to all children from ages 3-18 attending our services. Contact the principal or any Church managing committee members for admission information.

The mission of Sunday school is to create a learning opportunity for school age children in the Parish, so that they will be educated in the history, traditions, and theological aspects of the Orthodox Church of India.

Martha Mariam Samajam

Purpose

Marth Mariam Samajam is the Women's wing of the Malankara Orthodox Church of India. The aim of the organization is the spiritual progress of women belonging to the church.

Activities

• Preparing women to have Theological and Biblical knowledge by attending various courses, trainings and seminars
• Encouraging women to participate in the church choir to improve the liturgical music
• Training women to have awareness of social problems and help with right decision-making at every level
• Attempts to find out women's potentials to a greater extent to promote leader ship qualities
• Training women to conduct prayer groups, Bible classes, fellowship meetings and preach the gospel
• Preparing to solve the problems of working women
• Seek solidarity with women's action groups on local, national and inter-national levels. Encouraging more participation in ecumenical gatherings
• Enhance spirituality by observing canonical lents, engaging in charity work and practicing family prayers
• Encourage women to actively participate in the OVBS / Sunday school Program of each parish in bringing up children in the orthodox faith
• Encourage women to take an active role in the administration of the church and other committees at regional and diocesan level

Youth Group

Mission

The Youth Group encourages active leadership and Christian witness among the youth from our church. It contributes to the nourishment and progress of both the Church and community in the three-fold path of worship, study and service. It aims at moulding the minds and vision of the youth against the background of contemporary issues.

• Fundraising events - Car wash, Yard work, Help with household chores

Children's Ministry

Objectives

Children’s Ministry is a forum for young children aged 5 to 12 years to interact together outside of church functions. We strive to help our children grow spiritually by providing opportunities for nurturing friendships amongst themselves through active games, singing songs and learning from the Bible

Activities

Kids get together under adult supervision and participate in games, other learning activities, song sessions, practice skits, bake sessions and visit volunteer firefighters, museums & zoo.

Prayer Meetings

Purpose

Meetings encourage prayer in a group setting and provide social support to those who attend. It also encourage one another to endure obstacles by sharing and praying together as Christians.

Activities

• Learn songs and participate in common prayers
• Keep the prayer meeting simple in all aspects
• Encourage prayer in a public forum
• Opportunity to interact with families and get to know each other
